Dear All
Re: Lochbroom FM Radio Station
As you all know we have been running Lochbroom FM for
just over two years on a non-paid voluntary basis and
we have both thoroughly enjoyed every minute of that
time.
Sadly however Kevin has now been diagnosed with rather
a serious illness and needs treatment and a total change
of lifestyle. As I have been chronically ill for 21
years, as most of you already know, regrettably, it
has now become impossible for us to continue running
Lochbroom FM at this time.
We would just like to sincerely thank the wonderful
band of non-paid voluntary presenters for their total
commitment, dedication and loyalty. Each one of you
deserves a gold medal and the highest praise possible;
we shall miss you all.
Many thanks must also go to all the businesses that
have so diligently supported the radio station with
their adverts, sponsorships and raffle prizes. To Agnes
and George Ferrier for their fantastic fundraising efforts
for LBFM funds, indeed all the communities in LBFM's
broadcasting area for your most welcomed and valued
input.
When we took over Lochbroom FM was £23,000 in
debt with the bailiffs knocking loudly at the door.
We are both delighted to be able to hand over the reins
with no debts, a new mast at Polbain, trebling the broadcasting
area etc, and Lochbroom FM's finances in a healthy state,
just ripe for a new board of directors to take the radio
station onwards and upwards.
An EGM has been arranged to be held in the village
hall on Monday 11th February at 8pm. We hope as many
of you as possible can attend to elect a new board of
directors from those present to take over the running
of Lochbroom FM.
We wish the radio station and everyone connected with
it continuing success in the future.
With best wishes
Kevin & Sheena Guy
